Toddler Story Hours will be available during each season. They will usually run 6-8 weeks and cover a variety of different themes. The stories are the main event along with use of puppets, music and arts/crafts. Space is limited so sign ups are encouraged.
Family Reading Nights will be planned each month to encourage all members of the family to come to the library and read. Saturday Make it/Take it craft days will be scheduled to go with the holiday of the month. 10 Minute Book club for 8-10 year olds and Theater Reading Group for 5-12 year olds will be made available through out the year. All these will be free to the public and offered at different times of the year.
The main event is the Summer Reading Program. It offers the most for all school aged children during the summer months of June-July. Children aged 2 year old up to 5th grade are welcome to participate. Registration is required for this event and children are encouraged to read 1-2 books weekly to earn prizes. There will be activities, movies, picnics and guest speakers.

Winter Wonderland Toddler Story Time
Starts January 16th and runs until March 6, 2008. Story times are Wednesday 10:00 to 10:30am and Thursday nights 6:00 to 6:30pm. Story times will be limited to10 per session, but an extra session will be available Wednesday 11:00 to 11:30am if the others are full. Register by phone or at the front desk. Children ages 3 through 5 are welcomed to come and enjoy stories, music, puppets and arts/craft times. Each child must be accompanied with a guardian/parent.
10 Minute Book Club
Boys and girls age 8-10 years old can register by phone or sign in at the children’s department. The children will read a book of their choice for 10 minutes and then share what they have just read. Starts January 24 at 4:30pm and meets once a month.
Boys and girls grades 1-5 are welcome to join this club. Starts January 31 at 4:30pm and will meet once a month. Each child will take turns reading and acting out a part in a play.
Chess Tournaments

Online Book Clubs
Join our Online Books Clubs. Every day, Monday through Friday, you will receive in your email a five-minute selection from a chapter of a book. By the end of the week, you’ll have read 2-3 chapters. Every Monday we start a new book. Sign up and start reading.

Internet Training (3 week course)
- First week: Using the Mouse
- Second week: Surfing the Internet
- Third week: Using E-Mail
Offered Monday evening 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM or Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. There is a $5.00 progam fee. To register for this program, call the library at 724-684-4750 or stop at the circulation desk.
