This library will make every effort to implement the “Depository Library Public Service Guidelines For Government Information in Electronic Formats". Specifically, it will:
(Last revised on 2002-11-19)
- always provide no-fee access to computer workstations. These workstations will give the public access to the Internet, and to CD-ROM and diskette drives.
- make every effort to obtain hardware that conforms to the latest version of the “Minimum Technical Requirements for Public Access Workstations in Federal Depository Libraries” and, in addition, make every effort to conform to the “Recommended Specifications for Public Access Workstations in Federal Depository Libraries”.
- always make FDLP electronic products available for borrowing by patrons, whether or not these products are cataloged in the library’s automated software system. Exceptions to this could be the US Code and EPA Toxics Release, both currently kept at the Reference Desk.
- always provide for the public’s ability to access to government information on the Internet. The only costs would be nominal ones--for printing (ten cents per page), and for purchasing diskettes (one dollar).
- continue to maintain and update its web page of links to government information web sites.
- continue to provide Fax services (send & receive) to the public.
- continue to provide printers for the public’s use of the Internet computers. Also, upon request, the ability to download to diskette.
