Homeland Security Act of 2002

Follow this link to find out more about how on November 25, 2002, President Bush signed the "Homeland Security Act of 2002" into law. The Act restructures and strengthens the executive branch of the Federal Government to better meet the threat to our homeland posed by terrorism.

Citizen Corps Initiative - Citizen Preparedness Publications

Through the Citizen Corps initiative, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and your local Citizen Corps Council promote a range of measures for you to make your family, your home, and your community safer from the threats of crime, terrorism, and disasters of all kinds.

Publications available on this web site offer information on how you can be better prepared. You can either download these files or order these and other FEMA disaster preparedness and mitigation publications by calling FEMA's Distribution Center at 1-800-480-2520.

FEMA - Federal Emergency Management Agency

Part of the Emergency Preparedness and Response directorate under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FEMA is an independent federal agency with headquarters in Washington D.C., and regional and area offices across the country. FEMA also has standby disaster assistance employees who are available to help out after disasters. Often FEMA works in partnership with other organizations that are part of the nation's emergency management system. These partners include state and local emergency management agencies, 27 federal agencies and American Red Cross.

FEMA for Kids

Herman, the spokescrab for the site, teaches kids how to be prepared for disasters and how they can prevent disaster damage. They can also learn what causes disasters, play games, read stories and become a Disaster Action Kid.

Submit a Terrorist Tip

While the FBI continues to encourage the public to submit information regarding the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and other terrorist tip information, this form may also be used to report any suspected criminal activity to the FBI.
