Maintaining the Fayette County Strategic Plan is Fayette Forward's primary function. The Strategic Plan, created in 1995 with 153 projects shared by six committees, has grown to nine committees with hundreds of objectives. Thus far, 50 completed projects to assist and maintain steady economic development in the County have been documented in the Strategic Plan.

Fort Necessity National Battlefield

The confrontation at Fort Necessity in the summer of 1754 was the opening battle of the war known in North America as the French and Indian War and elsewhere as the Seven Years' War.

Friendship Hill National Historic Site

The former estate of Albert Gallatin, a Swiss emigrant who was instrumental in financing the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark Expedition, ending the War of 1812, developing the National Road and mitigating the Whiskey Rebellion.

Laurel Caverns Geological Park

Laurel Caverns Geological Park, a 435 acre geological park featuring Pennsylvania's largest cave.with 2.8 miles of passages. Laural Caverns is the 16th longest developed cave in the United States. It is located just fifty miles south of Pittsburgh, on Route 40, east of Uniontown. Rappelling, spelunking and tours are available.

Nemacolin Castle

A landmark and focal point of Brownsville Pennsylvania, one of the most historically important towns in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Originally the location of Indian burial grounds and fortifications, the area was the intended destination of Chief Nemacolin when he guided the Cresap expeditions across the mountains, establishing the Nemacolin Trail which later became the approximate route of the National Road. The castle itself was the historic mansion of the Bowman family, reflecting early life in America from Colonial times to the late Victorian era.

Ohiopyle State Park

Located primarily in Fayette County, Ohiopyle State Park encompasses about 19,052 acres of rugged natural beauty and serves as the gateway to the Laurel Mountains. The focal point of the area is the more than 14 miles of the Youghiogheny [yaw-ki-gay-nee] River Gorge that passes through the heart of the park.
